Virginia Crime Spree Terrorizes Suburbs

The suburbs around Manassas, Virginia have been terrorized over the last week by a pair of young men who have committed several robberies and killed at least one person during their crime spree.

The two suspects are thought to be males in their late teens or early twenties. Surveillance footage shows that they are likely black, with light skin tones, and are both of thin build and average height.

Police are offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who is able to help with information that could lead to the arrest of the two suspects. Their crime spree began on Saturday, when they robbed Bowl America in Manassas, before hitting a Comfort Inn on Tuesday. Then, they robbed a Walgreens on Christmas Eve before their fatal robbery at a Denny’s on Thursday.

Denny’s Robbery Becomes Deadly

During the robbery at a Denny’s in Manassas, the pair ordered patrons and employees in the store to get on the ground and hand over their belongings: phones, wallets, watches and the like. Surveillance footage shows the victims all complying with the robbers’ demands, as both young men were wielding guns.

Following the robbery, they shot one man in the restaurant before heading for the exit. That man is still in critical condition, but is expected to survive and make a full recovery.

A DoorDash delivery driver named Yusuf Ozgur, of Manassas, unknowingly held the door for the pair of criminals as they exited. They shot him, and he later died at a hospital from his injuries. He was 56 years old.

Police were baffled by the violence of this incident: both men that the criminals shot were fully complying with them, and no one had tried to intercept them or even call the police while they were in the building. Their violent outburst was confusing and upsetting to the community, which is still in fear of when the two may strike next.
