While Harvey Weinstein awaits sentencing following his conviction, he’s supposed to be cooling his heels at Rikers. Instead, he was rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest pains. Was it sudden heartburn, acid reflux–or something more serious?
After the trial, the 67-year-old media mogul was moved to Bellvue Hospital, where doctors determined he had a blockage in one of his heart valves. Weinstein underwent a four-hour surgery to place a stent in his heart. After the surgery, he was moved to the infirmary at Rikers. He is expected to be sentenced on March 11 and faces up to 29 years in prison.
