How Facial Recognition Is Changing Law Enforcement

The future is here, folks; no matter if you’re wearing the best liquid foundation makeup money can buy, or you’re walking out of the house two minutes after you get out of bed, law enforcement is able to track you via facial recognition. And yes, this is happening in the United States, right now.

There is a database in Florida that has been in use for 20 years, collecting photographs and studying features. Over 4,500 queries go through that system a month, and even the best liquid foundation makeup isn’t going to hide you… if the picture is clear enough.

Technology isn’t far enough long that law enforcement is able to get guaranteed results from a blurry or grainy image, but it is perfect for suspects in custody that are not talking, or from using legitimate photographs.

China is rolling out a system now that will identify citizens using facial recognition and track their moods, actions, movement, and more. Experts in the field say it’s only a matter of time before the United States gets there, too.
