In Frostproof, Florida, three old friends were fatally beaten and shot on their way to fish late Friday night in a remote area, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
At a media briefing near the scene Saturday morning, the sheriff described the killings as a “massacre.”
Judd identified the victims as Damion Tillman, 23, Keven Springfield, 30, and Brandon Rollins, 27.
Just after 10 p.m. Friday, Rollins called his father on his cell phone for help. Upon arriving at the scene, Rollins found his son barley alive, his two friends dead.
Before he died, Rollins was able to say a few things to his father, the Sheriff’s office didn’t release what was said.
It appears Tillman arrived first, and while he was being killed, Rollins and Springfield arrived and were shot.
The Sheriff’s office is offering $5,000 for any information leading to the capture of the killers. It’s believed that more than one culprit was involved in the slaying.
