Texas Couple Charged After Infant Son Found in Bucket of Tar

Collin County Sheriff deputies arrested Roland Grabowski, 42, and 41-year-old Donna Grabowski Saturday when deputies were dispatched in response to a call about the possibility of an unreported death of a child, according to CBS affiliate KTVT.

Investigators found the body of the couple’s 1-week-old son Micah submerged in a bucket of tar in a shed located behind their residence.

Officials said the parents initially refused to cooperate, however, after their arrest they told authorities they had found the newborn dead in bed on July 29 but did not report it.

In arrest warrants, authorities said the couple allegedly tried to get a friend to cover for them, writing in a text “I need you to say your baby is ours. Quick in and out. They just need to see.”

The wife also told investigators that Micah was born at Medica Center of McKenney, but the hospital had no record of the birth, WFAA-TV reported.

Donna is facing four felony charges. Her bond is set at $1,075,000. Roland, who is facing similar charges, is being held on a $925,000 bail. According to the Associated Press, Roland is a registered sex offender for 2008 sexual assaults on two minor girls.
